What happens during the examination, in six stages

  1. You tell us.Why you came, what bothers you, what you would like.
  2. Medical questionnaire and dental history.Your medications, your medical conditions, your allergies. Several of them affect the mouth.
  3. The examination of the mouth.The teeth, the gums, the jaw, the tongue, the cheeks, the bite. We also note what is normal: that is your starting point.
  4. The tools: radiographs and photographs.Radiographs, photographs or a digital impression, only when they answer a question.
  5. The summary.What is active, what is stable, what can wait.
  6. The treatment and prevention plan.What we propose, in what order, and why.

What to bring

At a minimum

  • Your health insurance card (RAMQ)
  • Your Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) card, if you are enrolled
  • Your private dental insurance card, if applicable
  • The list of your medications (or the containers)
  • Any other useful health information: medical conditions, allergies, recent surgery

Ideally

  • Your previous dental file
  • Your dental radiographs taken less than 2 years ago
  • Your panoramic radiograph taken less than 5 years ago

Your previous radiographs can spare you new ones. You may ask your former clinic for a copy of your file; it is your right.

Coverage and payment

CDCP: accepted. Bring your card. To find out whether you are eligible: Canadian Dental Care Plan.

RAMQ: several services are covered for children under 10 and for recipients of a financial assistance programme who hold a claim booklet. See the services covered by RAMQ.

Private insurance: accepted.

Payment: cash, debit or credit card.

Financing: offered by third parties — Accord D, Flexiti and others. We can point you to these resources.

Before any treatment, you receive a written estimate of the costs.

Good to know

Access

The studio is on the 1st floor, with a staircase at the entrance. It is not wheelchair accessible. If stairs are difficult for you, call us before coming.

Afraid of the dentist?

Tell us when you book. We explain each step before doing it, and you can ask for a break at any time.

Health questionnaire

You fill it in at the studio, on arrival. Your answers go into your file. A secure online questionnaire will be offered later.

Cancellation

  • Let us know at least 24 hours in advance, ideally 48 hours.
  • 2nd missed appointment without notice: $50 fee.
  • 3rd missed appointment without notice: $100 fee.
  • After several missed appointments, the studio may end the follow-up, with notice, and transfer your file to the clinic of your choice.
