Prosthodontic examination

An assessment of existing crowns, bridges and dentures, or of teeth to be replaced, before deciding what comes next.

When to consult

  • A denture no longer holds, hurts, or has fractured.
  • A crown or bridge has come loose.
  • One or more teeth are missing and you want to know the options.
  • You are considering implants and want to know whether your mouth is suited to them.

Good to know

Replacing a tooth is not always the first thing to do. We look first at the state of the neighbouring teeth, the gums and the bone that will carry the solution.

How it works

  1. Examination of the remaining teeth, the gums and the bone support.
  2. Assessment of the dentures or restorations already in the mouth.
  3. Study impressions and photographs; radiographs as indicated.
  4. Presentation of the possible options, with their advantages, their limits and their upkeep.

Frequently asked questions

Should I bring my current denture?

Yes, even if you no longer wear it: it tells us what worked and what did not hold.

The information on this page is general. Only an examination can tell what suits your situation.
